Mandy Shintani

Mandy Shintani is an occupational therapist and gerontologist. She was the founder of five small businesses and the developer of an internationally patented medical rehabilitation device. Mandy was a finalist for the YMCA Women of Distinction Award for innovation and entrepreneurship and is an international conference presenter on aging and mobility. She currently serves as Chair of the Japanese Canadian War Memorial Committee and has launched her first podcast series on the untold stories of Canadians of Japanese heritage during the Second World War. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, pickleball, and volunteering in climate action, the arts, and politics.  Mandy has two wonderful children and lives with her husband, Garth Taylor, in North Vancouver, BC.
